The Confucius Better World Foundation aims to contribute to communities by fundraising, organising, and promoting educationally and culturally enriching activities. Additionally, we help support other charitable organisations who are making the most direct contribution to their local communities, that is, where we can clearly see how the money is being used and what changes it is making. We believe that by supporting excellent grassroots organisations who understand their communities and the specific local needs, we can help them have a greater impact. We have a particular interest in supporting organisations which work to improve the lot of children, but this is not exclusive. We also support organizations based in China and the UK that have established thoughtful and needed projects around the globe. For more information, click on the “Charitable Interests” tab.
Why “Confucius”? Our chief executive, James Kong (孔垂旭), is a 79th generation descendant of Confucius. James’s grandfather, Kong Deyong (孔德庸), is the head of our family in China and presides over many of the ceremonies that take place at Qufu, Confucius’ birthplace, and so, increasingly, does his father, Richard Kong (孔维众).
